NATURE FILMMAKING & DOCUMENTARIES

Bighorn Studio spends a big part of its time filming into the wild for its pleasure. Its short films had succes and were rewarded: 

-In 2014, the film "Sur la Piste du Mouflon" was encouraged to continue with the "Coup de Pouce" award in the amateur category of the Festival Nature Namur.

-The film "Everyday Marvels" has been awarded in 2017 in the amateur category of the Festival Nature Namur with the Best Commentary Award.
 

-In 2018, Everyday Marvels was chosen to be part of the official selection of the French Festival de l'Oiseau et de la Nature of Abbeville.

POLE TO PARIS

Bighorn Studios followed Erlend Moster Knudsen for four days running in Norway. The film shows a small part of his 2500 Km's long trip running from the Arctic circle to Paris for climate, ahead of COP21.

QUINOBEL

François Gilbert was the first to grow quinoa in Belgium. He came back from south America in 2013 with genetically selected quinoa seeds and launched Quinobel to try to make this plant from the amaranthe family a little more known in Europe. Nowadays, he has more than 20 hectares of quinoa crop every year and we could see Quinobel's quinoa it in every belgian shop display.

Bighorn Studio spent a season filming the developpement of this unusual crop...

Scientific films

In the rural Morocco, wastewater sanitation is a major problem that might put the populations at risk as well as threaten the groundwaters.

The German Cooperation (GIZ) develops on location sustainable and ecological wastewater treatment plants which are cheap and accessible to the local people.
